Our Mission

SCI is committed to giving back to our community.

It is really important for us as women in Construction to develop the social and leadership capacities of youth, young adults, and women so that they are prepared for employment in the industry

Our vision is for all youths growing up in the Greater Bay Area to feel valued, safe, and prepared to achieve their dreams of college, career, and leadership. To that end, we connect youths from underserved neighborhoods with access to the resources and opportunities they need to navigate gender, economic, and racial barriers, and realize their potential.

A key to addressing the shortage of construction workers and meeting that demand is to encourage women to learn about the trades and consider pursuing careers in construction, architecture, OSHA Certification, and engineering.

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, I fell behind on my mortgage payments and my house was scheduled to be auctioned during the Thanksgiving holiday. I was about to become homeless and I had no money to buy food for my traditional Thanksgiving dinner I have cooked for years. Several people knocked on my door asking to buy my home, I was confused I did not know what to do or who I should trust. Fearing I would be homeless and living on the streets, I accepted an offer from the third person who knocked on my door. As luck would have it, Nubian knocked on my door three days later, asking me if I wanted to sell my home, I told her I already had a buyer. She asked me how much I was offered, I disclosed the amount and she told me I was giving my house away and she could get me more money. Turns out Nubian got me $165,000 more than the original offer. She also took me grocery shopping, she bought me food so I could cook a full Thanksgiving dinner. Before my escrow closed she helped me find a nice condo in which I had enough money to pay cash. She also helped me purchase all my furniture and she took me to the Toyota dealership to buy a brand new car, which I also had enough money to pay cash. Nubian saved and changed my life, I can never thank her enough for knocking on my door.

I am so glad I was introduced to Nubian by a mutual friend. I live in a small town in Texas, I was planning to sell my rental property, For Sale by Owner. After speaking with Nubian, she explained why it would be wise to use a Realtor rather than sell my rental on my own. I'm so happy I took her advice. I did not know about all the laws that protect tenants right. Nubian explained she was not an attorney and could not give me legal advice, but she advised me it would be a challenge to evict my tenants because they were seniors and disabled. Nubian had a very difficult task working with the tenants but within 60 days we closed escrow, she worked with the tenants and helped them get approved for a loan and they purchased my rental property. The most unbelievable thing is I did absolutely nothing but sign the documents at the close of escrow, she did all the work. I would definitely use Nubian again and again.

I inherited my father’s house. The house is in a great neighborhood, but not in such great shape. I was going to sell the house AS IS until one of my co workers gave me Sisters
Construction flyer. The information on the flyer was too good to be true, I had never heard of a concierge Realtor who pays for all your renovations upfront, but I figured what the hey, I gave Nubian a call to get more information. She came to my fathers home the next day and did a walk through. She prepared a booklet with other homes that sold in near by neighborhoods. The homes in her booklet were much nicer than my fathers, selling between $900,000-$1,200,000. Nubian, told me if I sold my fathers house AS IS, after loan payoff and commission I would stand to net about $650,000, but if I rehabbed it I could possible make $850,000. I thought to myself $650,000 is more money than I've had in my life, but then I started thinking about my kids college tuition, purchasing an investment property and maybe a nice vacation in the Caribbean. Just as she said, Sisters Construction put up all the renovation fees, their crew finished the rehab in 30 days and my fathers house sold for $1,2050,000. I didn't pay a penny until the close of escrow. Sisters Construction was very professional and easy to work with. They helped me find an investment property, they fixed it up for me also and now I have a positive monthly cash flow. Thank you dad and thank you Sisters Construction Inc., life is good.

My house sustained water damage throughout. I called Sisters Construction Inc., I was surprised two women came to do an inspection. Patricia and Nubian were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They offered some great ideas. I felt confident hiring them to do my remodel. It turned out so beautiful. My neighbors were so envious.
